They will be covering the Epic inaugural live, using social media sites such as Twitter, Facebook, 12 seconds video, TwitVid, Twitpic, YouTube and by blogging.

During the Luxury Travel Expo 2009 in Las Vegas, NV at the MGM Grand Centrifuge Lounge the duo helped Norwegian coordinate a tweetup, an organized gathering of people that use Twitter. Bill and Christopher shared Las Vegas to Norwegian’s guests of travel experts during the event.

“We realize what a powerful tool social media has become in this day and age when the customer is king,” said Andy Stuart, @nclandy, executive vice president of global sales and passenger services of Norwegian Cruise Line. “We look forward to having Bill and Chris, two of Norwegian Cruise Line’s most engaged online fans, with us at the Miami inaugural of our newest and most innovative ship Norwegian Epic, as they share their first hand experience with their friends and followers.” Using social media to foster more profitable customer relationships requires moving beyond simply listening to your customers and actually engaging them in a mutually beneficial way. Learn the strategies that will enable you to transition from a reactive approach to social media and begin proactively shaping your brand perception on the social web.

“Christopher and I are happy to work with Norwegian Cruise Line during this truly awesome experience in cruising, hospitality and luxury travel while on Norwegian Epic. Christopher and I have worked with Norwegian before that included the use of social media and that made our trip successful for everyone. We know large companies can be hesitant towards events or any promotion relying on social media, but Norwegian has seen the overwhelming positive effects it can have on shaping customer’s sentiments and positive ROI.” said Bill Cody.

“Having worked directly with Mr. Stuart of Norwegian Cruise Line and the press department before on various successful projects like the Las Vegas Luxury Travel Tweetup and On-board ship live interaction, both Bill and I were excited to continue the relationship between us. We realize that Norwegian receives many pitches frequently and it goes to show how powerful social media can be when launching or continuing any marketing strategy. Working with hospitality and multi-resort properties in Las Vegas with social media made us a perfect candidate in working with Norwegian again,” says Christopher Rauschnot chief social media strategist at the company.
