InformationWeek is a leading tech publication that holds annual awards to recognize the top 500 most innovative users of business technology. Out of the 500 awarded, the Beverage iApp was in the top 50 percent.

In 2011, members of the Caesars Entertainment innovation, information technology, customer service and operations teams began conceptualizing and creating a new approach for delivering upbeat and positive beverage service within a target order-to-delivery time.

The Beverage iApp allows a beverage host to take orders using the Apple iPad or iPod Touch devices to enhance the efficiency of the drink order and delivery process and also increase the visibility of beverage hosts on the casino floors for customers.

Now available at ten Caesars Entertainment properties including Rio All-Suite Hotel & Casino, the new service has already helped to decrease the time it takes to deliver a drink by more than 50 percent.

“We set out to use an emerging technology platform like mobile to transform traditional beverage service in the casino and increase customer service scores,” said Rich Kang, Head of Omnichannel Innovation. “To surpass our expectations, achieve our business goals and get recognized for this achievement is truly rewarding for the team.”
