Earth Hour 2009 Las Vegas List Of Events Start At 8:30 PM For 1 Hour
Earth Hour 2009 Las Vegas complete list of events around the city from the Las Vegas welcome sign to downtown Las Vegas. Earth Hour is a global attempt by the World Wildlife fund to focus on the climate change. Las Vegas, NV is one of 10 Earth Hour 2009 flagship cities participating in the event to find solutions.
The excitement will start tonight at 8:30 pm with only the marquees going dark, not the interior lights of the hotel casinos. The energy saving event will last 60 minutes. The following are participating locations for this energy saving event. Individuals, business and governments from around the world will be part of this historic event.
- The “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign will be unplugged for 60 minutes for Earth Hour 2009.
- Whole Foods Market @ The District in Henderson with a great view of The Strip from 8:30-9:30 pm serving tapas!
- VooDoo Lounge Free before 9 p.m. top of RIO hotel with views of the Las Vegas Strip. Patio opens at 5 pm.
- Cancun Resort Las Vegas will have an Eco-Tini mixer at observation deck and watch city go dark.
- UNLV + Ultimate Frisbee Team will have glow in the dark frisbee games.
- 9 Fine Irishmen @ NY NY: Sustainable Earth Hour Prix Fixe menu from 6-10, $29.95 - starter, entrée + dessert.
- NY NY Hotel: Roller “Dark Coaster†rides with neon necklace from 8:30-9:30 Tixs $14.
- Whole Foods Market Town Square Las Vegas. Meet at 8 pm at coffee bar and taste wine samples under the stars.
- Top of the World Rest @ Stratosphere has a special menu w/ Certifies Angus Beef + all organic fare. View Strip from Level 107!
- NY NY Hotel - Acoustic Band “Alternative Energy†on the Brooklyn Bridge, lit by candles, from 8:30-9:45 pm.
- Hard Rock Hotel Las Vegas will offer a 3-course candlelight $42 dinner at AGO, Ecotini in bars + Twilight Poker Tourny @ 7 pm.
- RM Seafood at Mandalay Place serving hors d’oeuvres + free IS Vodka cocktails in the UP Lounge. No cover.
