Grand Challenge II Poker Tournament At MGM Grand Hotel 4/19 - 5/6

MGM Grand Hotel & Casino’s 23-table poker room will be home to the Grand Challenge II Poker Tournament April 19 – May 6, directed by Matt Savage, among the most recognized and respected tournament directors worldwide. The tournament, one of MGM Resorts’ M life members-only events, will provide poker enthusiasts with the opportunity to win cash prizes.

The Grand Challenge is a series of poker tournaments with buy-ins ranging from $150 to $1,600. The event will feature a variety of tournaments including No Limit Hold’em, Pot Limit Omaha, H.O.R.S.E., Omaha Eight or Better and Chinese Poker.

Tournament registration begins Thursday, April 19 at 9 a.m. All participants must be 21 years of age or older and must be members of M life , MGM Resorts International’s new premier lifestyle rewards program which has expanded beyond a players club and is available to all MGM Resorts’ guests. Membership is free and guests can sign up through www.mlife.com or at one of the 15 participating MGM Resorts’ destinations.

“We anticipate the Grand Challenge will be one of our more popular events of the year,” said Rob Moore, director of poker operations at MGM Grand. “The tournaments in April and October should feature strong fields while providing our M life customers multiple options in their attempt to win a variety of cash prizes.”

Grand Challenge Tournament Director Savage has appeared on more than 300 televised poker shows on ESPN, GSN, Fox Sports Network and Travel Channel, among others. He currently holds the position of Executive Tour Director of the World Poker Tour and Tournament Director of the upcoming Federated Poker League. He also is the Tournament Director at Commerce Casino in Los Angeles as well as for Bay 101, a tournament held in his hometown of San Jose , Calif. Savage appeared in the Warner Brothers movie “Lucky You,” starring Drew Barrymore and Eric Bana, and is the founder of the Tournament Directors Association (TDA).
