Hard Rock Hotel New Joint 4,000 Capacity Theater Opens April 17, 2009

Joint TheaterHard Rock Las Vegas hotel new joint 4,000 capacity theater opens April 17, 2009.  The hotel is finishing construction on the concrete and steel of the open performance $60 million concert arena.

Sceno Plus, a design firm based in Montreal, designed the Las Vegas performance venue.  They’ve also had their hand at the new Aliante Station hotel casino.

There is a slight rise to the floor, less than the previous space.  This allows for a boxing ring and ample space for fights.  Behind that area are two stepped up rows for chairs of seated concerts.  Paul McCartney will not be filling those chairs, he want’s a real rock n roll performance.

The only permanent 730 seats are located on the third level.  Along the side walls are two balcony levels with VIP levels on the lower level.  Seven luxury suites will be located on the VIP level and rented by each event.  Year long leases are not expeted.  The furthest seat is touted as being 155 feet from the stage.  The similar seat at The Pearl Theater at the Palms is at most 120 feet.

A large improvement in sound will be included in the remodel.  New and improved 25 delay speakers will stop the echo from the back of the house.  The stage have a 23 by 13 foot center screen along with two 16 by 9 foot video screens.

The state of the art stage is 40 by 60 feet and can accommodate a full concert rig above the state.  The stage, proscenium and balcony rail work hasn’t changed shape from the previous Joint.  The hotel wants the patrons to feel like they are in a familiar place.

The Killers will open the Joint Theater on April 17, with Paul McCartney several days later on April 19, 2009.
