Shake, Rattle & Roll. Gospel Brunch At The House of Blues Las Vegas

This is a guest post written by Chris Rauschnot, @24K on Twitter, of @24KMedia.

The House of Blues Las Vegas, at the Mandalay Bay hotel, is a famed venue for acts like Carlos Santana to traveling burlesque shows. Over the years I have been to a few events at the New Orleans themed concert hall, but nothing compares to the recent gospel brunch I experienced.

The House of Blues asked if I would be interested in attending one of their 10 am gospel brunches and I immediately said yes. It was an opportunity to see how the venue has been doing and just how much fun a person could have with a Southern inspired brunch.

The tickets were easy to acquire at the box office, but I also noticed they are available online at houseofblues.com. Even if you are curious about the gospel part of the brunch, go to the show. The singers, dancers and band know how to get people up and out of their seats.

I am happy to say that the brunch was tasty and the gospel was uplifting, with dancing in the aisle fun. The giant selection of food was hot and ready. The only unfortunate thing about their selection was that I was only able to try a fraction of it.

The selection of food available, which I am sure changes from week to week, included BBQ ribs, creamy potato salad, biscuits and gravy, several live action omelet stations, a live action waffle bar, a meat carving station, red potatoes, jambalaya and a multitude of yummy desserts. I can usually tell good jambalaya from bad, and since visiting New Orleans last October, I liked what was served at the House of Blues.

The friendly staff, reserved seating, tasty and hot food plus an overall good time are reasons enough to visit the House of Blues for gospel brunch. If getting up in the early morning for brunch is too much, they have a later 1 pm event too. At $40 for adults, which includes the entertainment, buffet, gratuity and tax, according to their website, I would definitely go back for more.
