Summerlin Earthfaire is Las Vegas Fifth Consecutive Largest Earth Day
Summerlin’s Earthfaire is Las Vegas, NV fifth consecutive largest Earth Day. The free public event will be held April 19 from 10 – 4pm at Summerlin Centre Community Park on Town Center Drive.
For the fifth consecutive year, Summerlin will host the Las Vegas Valley’s biggest celebration of Earth Day in Southern Nevada, at Summerlin Earthfaire.
Participating organizations will provide information about their respective groups as well as tips on energy savings, interactive environmental education and recycling.
This year’s Summerlin Earthfaire festival is bigger and has become more popular than ever. More than 50 environmental exhibitors including support from Cox Communications, KTNV TV-13, The News, Boston Cleaners, Republic Services, Shark Reef at Mandalay Bay, Mix 94.1 radio station and sponsored by Summerlin.
Parking for the festival will be within a short walk and across the street from the park.
Attractions at Earth Day in Summerlin real estate includes hands-on planting demonstrations by The UNLV Cooperative Extension Master Gardeners; environmental activities for kids by Mad Science; live wild horses from the National Wild Horse Association; pet adoption by the Nevada Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals; and children’s art created from recycled materials by Roz Knight from City of the World.
A list of exhibitors at Earth Day are Friends of Red Rock Canyon, The Tortoise Group, the Las Vegas Astronomical Society, Nellis Air Force Base Environmental Management Office, City of Las Vegas Environmental Division, Red Rock Canyon Interpretive Association, National Wild Horse Association, The Sierra Club, The Nature Conservancy, Nevada Rock Art Foundation Southern Nevada Water Authority, Outside Las Vegas, Conservation District of Southern Nevada and many more.
