Las Vegas casinos gaming revenue was a cool $949 million during June, 2008. Year to date total was a 1.1 percent deficit for Nevada casinos.
This is the longest decline since the terrorist attacks on September 11, 2001. During that time there was only a five month decline in casino gaming revenue.
The fiscal year for Nevada ended in June and tabulated $12.5 billion in gaming revenue. This was the first fiscal year decline in six years at 1.87 percent.

Nevada gaming revenue is down and casinos don’t hear the cha ching bells in the halls. The current national economy has affected the bottom line of casinos in Las Vegas, NV.
Many Americans have cut their discretionary income and gambling in Las Vegas for the last four months of 2008. April 2008 Nevada casino revenues were $55.1 million, a decline of 3.5 percent from year to date figures.
Gaming taxes collected by the state were decreased 4 percent for the first 11 months at $707.8 million. More than half of last year’s gaming tax collections declined from the previous year’s figures.

Las Vegas hotel occupancy and tourism was at record levels during July 2007. Not even the extreme heat could stop the Las Vegas visitors.
A historically weaker month of the year for visitors, there was a slight surge from July 2006, with a reduction of 33 percent in conventions in Las Vegas, Nevada real estate.
The hotel occupancy rate in Las Vegas was a record setting 92 percent with 3.4 million in visitors.

Las Vegas, Nevada real estate casinos made $1.06 billion in February 2007 from gamblers. This is a 2.9 percent increase from the same month in 2006, according to the state Gaming Control Board. Some of the biggest winners were casinos on the Las Vegas Strip including, Mandalay Bay, MGM Grand, Venetian, Wynn, and Mirage Casino. A total for February included $574.7 million from gamblers.
A research analyst said there were several special events which drew high rollers to the city including Chinese New Year, and the Las Vegas, Nevada sponsored NBA All-Star Game. Can you believe that there were higher expectations from these two events?
