UFC 72 VICTORY Ultimate Fighting Championship Rich Franklin is unanimous decision winner over Yushin Okami in Belfast, June 16, 2007.

Both men fight in the Octagon at UFC 72 and are favoring their left hands. They seem to be looking for position and angling right after the fight starts. They brought the fight to the fence and the referee had to break them up. The mixed martial arts fight hasn’t been so spectacular so far with neither Franklin or Okami showing much of a performance. Franklin looks like the favorite in round one.

Okami seems to let Franklin dictate the pace and location of the mma fight in the Octagon. Okami looked for a takedown and took it against the cage. Franklin used a right hook but didn’t follow up and Okami had one too but seemed to have been too late in the match. Wow, Franklin isn’t getting resistance with his combos. Okami isn’t doing any takedowns either.

Okami at Ultimate Fighting Championship 72 started round three with a flying knee. He picked up the pace mid ring while he knocked him off his feet and taking him down with about four minutes remaining. Okami was able to gain a full mount. Franklin of course tried to get out of it. Okami tried a guillotine and Franklin wasn’t having it. Okami then went for a kimura and then an omo plata, but Franklin escaped. Excitement definitely picked up but Okami was way too late.
