UFC 92 THE ULTIMATE 2008 Rashad Evans is winner over Forrest Griffin with TKO in the year ending fight card.  The UFC light heavyweight title match went three rounds for an exciting end for the previous winners of The Ultimate Fighter TV reality show.

Rashad Evans was the definite undergdog according to Las Vegas odd makers for the Ultimate Fighting Championship light heavyweight title fight at the MGM Grand Garden Arena.  An excited group of 14,103 fans witnessed a couple of champions de throned.The UFC 92 co main event between Frank Mir and Antonio Nogueira didn’t last long.  Mir made quick moves in the Octagon against his previous Ultimate Fighter coach.  With several connected strikes Mir knocked Nogueira to the mat and the fight was called in the second round.

For the first two rounds Forrest Griffin and Rashad Evans had close rounds.  The final round was dominated by Evans.   Evans connected with a right, and the champ fell to the mat.  From the top, Evans followed with shots and hammer fists.  Griffin looked like he regained his defensive guard, but Evans used his elbow to throw him off.  Evans used a right shot and stunned his opponent.  He finished off the round with a lightning round of lefts that referee Mazzagatti had to stop the fight, crowning the new Ultimate Fighting Championship world champion.
